Description
A PKR party worker informed MEO-Net that a postal voter’s name is also found in the regular electoral roll where the EC had not crossed out his name! The voter is Teoh Siew Foong, a civil servant with IC 581107-13-5131. The voter is being checked by PKR agents and more details will emerge soon. If confirmed the case is the first case where double voting is caught red handed! In previous instances there had been cases where the suspect manage to run away and escape legal punishment!
Update: the voter actually came to complain that despite his postal vote status his name is still found on the EC’s roll. Normally the temporary postal voters (spouses of police or military, EC’s polling clerks etc) will have their name crossed out on the regular electoral roll to prevent double voting. Probably the voter who reported this is concerned that may be in other cases the voters would have voted twice rather than reporting it to a party agent. So: did the EC made chance for double voting by not crossing out temprorary postal voters? if confirmed-how many are involved?
